The Things We Do – Music Video

Check out our new video for “The Things We Do” off of our 2nd EP, “The Long Hot Winter”.

With this video, we wanted to make it more of a background piece, something that fit with the music and feel of the song a bit more, and we hope it in fact enhances that a bit more. Unlike our other videos and many a sound-tracked video, this one has considerably much less characters to it for instance. However, there is a deeper story in itself about dreams of escapism yet being captivated by captivity.

Last but not least, much thanks to Justin for all the help filming it and letting me drag him to loads of locations around the city even after he thought the shots were all done.

Bullet Time – Music Video from Stereo Off

Here is our first music video – Bullet Time, off of our first EP “Stereo Off New York EP5, aka, SONY EP5”.

Let us know what you think and thanks for all the likes and comments already. Cheers to http://www.deadredeyes.com for the making of and directing and thanks to all the people that helped out, acted in, let us use apartments, bars, etc.

The video is a bit of an homage to retro NYC circa the 70’s and 80’s perhaps, or at least that’s the vibe we were going for. In true low-budget indie spirits we were involved from creating the plot and story line, all the way down to going through all the takes and amends (in fact, our bassist even did the video editing on this) to final cuts, which is frankly as DIY as it gets.

Stereo Off Music Featured in Short Film

Watch it over at http://www.deadredeyes.com/an-idiots-guide-short-film-with-notes-from-the-director or on YouTube.

Stereo Off did the whole soundtrack to “An Idiots Guide – On How Not To Be an Idiot” a short film shot in North Carolina this summer with Dead Red Eyes.

Four of our songs are featured in random parts of the short film (bullet time, effectual, bad friday, the thrill), see if you can spot them. One of the band members makes an appearance in the background at times too.

Stereo Off at Arlene’s Grocery – Setlist and Video

Thanks to everyone that came out last night to see us at Arlene’s Grocery. We gave away some t-shirts and stuck around for rock and roll karaoke afterwards, to hear what you had for us. Loads of people may have been out of town, but we still got a great turn out and a fun night. Also turns out the gig overall was one of the “5 Best Things in NYC to do that night” according to CBS New York at http://newyork.cbslocal.com/

Anyway, cheers to Eleanor and everyone at Arlene’s. A few videos were sent to us and we’ve put them on YouTube for now. One of them appears at the top of this post. As for the set list, it went like this:

MI6
Bullet Time
Bad Friday
The Thrill
Supercooler
Wait Again (video above)
Somethings Happening
Effectual
LA Dreaming
Photographs

So that’s ten songs this time and our last gig of 2012.

Here’s to a great 2013 for everyone.

Stereo Off at Pianos – Setlist

Thanks to all those who came out on a damp Monday night to see us at Pianos. I know I would have struggled to be out on a Monday night like last night, with day job making me pay the price this morning, so we do appreciate the support. Anyway, more pictures and videos to come soon.

Set list for the show at Pianos on Monday, December 10th was as follows:

Supercooler
Bullet Time
The Thrill
Wait Again
Something Happening (video below)
Mi6
LA Dreaming
Photographs

See you later in the month.

Photographs – Live Clip from Knitting Factory

Been a busy couple weeks, but here’s another clip from the last show (Photographs). Not sure if the static is from putting an iPhone clip on a PC, but that’s another story.

More to come soon including a handful of new tracks and shows in NY and elsewhere in the coming months.
